CARY, N.C. – Terramor Homes, a local premier home building company in the Triangle, has announced that it won the Silver Award for “The James E, The Duke Miracle Home” at the 2013 Wake County Parade of Homes Banquet on Oct. 16. Placed in the fourth highest price category, Category 15, Terramor received the Silver award, where they competed against seven other builders in the $769,834 to $822,000 price range. Terramor’s Chief Operating Officer Michelle Simms, Director of Construction Paul Bailey and Field Manager Tim Upchurch accepted the award at the banquet.
The Wake County Parade of Homes, held by the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County, is one of the largest judged home tours in the country and runs for three weekends in October annually. Featuring new homes throughout the county, the Parade of Homes houses are judged prior to the first weekend of the tour. Each home is evaluated based on criteria such as quality workmanship, floor plan and curb appeal. A gold, silver and bronze award is given in each category, which is divided by price range.
Terramor received a special feature award for the custom wine cellar in the home’s finished basement. Some other feature highlights included in the Miracle Home included Thermador appliances, custom hardwoods throughout the first floor, a mud room with built-in bench and cubbies, extensive trim package, master suite with custom closet creation, first-floor guest suite with separate bathroom and a finished basement with a wet bar.
Terramor was selected as the 2014 Duke Miracle Home Builder earlier this year at the MIX 101.5 Radiothon, and the company has pledged to raise $120,000 for the Duke Children’s Miracle Network along with the construction. The Miracle Home is a part of the Terramor “A Touch of Hope Program,” which was created to highlight service projects and organizations. All revenue generated from the sale of the Miracle Home will go directly toward the Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center.
“We are pleased to receive this prestigious award from the Parade of Homes,” said Pablo Reiter, Terramor Homes president. “It is an honor to compete against such great builders in the Triangle area. Receiving the honor of building the 2014 Duke Miracle Home has been an extremely rewarding and gratifying experience for our organization, and we are proud of the work we have done in an effort to give back to the community.”
