Inspections & Ratings
Each certified ecoSelect home is inspected and tested by a trained and certified energy rater. Visual inspections combined with blower door and HVAC system duct leakage tests verify to confirm that the home you are buying is healthy, comfortable and efficient. In addition to increased energy efficiency, an ecoSelect home is inspected for features that address water efficiency and indoor air quality. The comprehensive on-site inspections and building performance testing during the construction of the home provides you with third party assurance of your new home’s performance. Once the home has been certified, look for the ecoSelect Performance Label on your home’s electrical services panel as an indication that the home has met all of the ecoSelect program requirements.
How it Works
Your builder selects an ecoSelect certified energy rater who will review the ecoSelect standards and requirements for your home.
Your builder submits a completed ecoSelect project registration form and copy of the home’s plans to their ecoSelect certified energy rater.
3. PLAN REVIEW & ANALYSIS
The energy rater completes a preliminary plan review and energy analysis based on the home’s plans and provides feedback to your builder to ensure the home will meet the ecoSelect standards.
The builder contacts the energy rater to schedule an on-site insulation inspection prior to drywall installation.
5. FINAL INSPECTION
The builder contacts the energy rater once power is supplied to the home to schedule the final inspection and performance testing.
If your home meeets all prescribed specifications and requirements, an ecoSelect Performance Label is released to the builder indicating the home’s certification under the ecoSelect Certifications Program!
